Hello, and welcome!

Jestina Pitre is a Certified Canadian Counsellor and a recent graduate from Yorkville University's Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program. Jestina is currently applying for licensure as a Licensed Counselling Therapist - Candidate through the College of Licensed Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick. Jestina strives to create a warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel comfortable being their authentic selves.

Jestina recognizes that every person enters therapy with different experiences, strengths, needs, and goals. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she works collaboratively with each client and adapts the therapy process to suit the individual. Her practice draws from person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and strengths-based therapy. She remains flexible in her work, selecting and integrating approaches that she believes will be most helpful for each client.

She has a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, grief, trauma, identity-related challenges, and significant life transitions. Jestina helps clients better understand themselves, recognize their existing strengths, and work towards meaningful changes that align with their values. She believes that therapy should be a place where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment.

Jestina offers individual therapy for clients ages 10 and older, as well as couples therapy. She provides both in-person and virtual sessions, with in-person appointments available at the Bathurst and Caraquet locations.

Before entering the therapy field, Jestina gained valuable experience through her work with Social Development, supporting children and adults under the age of 65 who live with disabilities. This work strengthened her appreciation for each person’s unique circumstances and reinforced the importance of approaching others with compassion, patience, respect, and an open mind.

Jestina values authenticity and believes that a genuine therapeutic relationship can help clients feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences, gain new perspectives, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that may have become lost or overlooked. She is committed to continued learning and to developing her practice in ways that allow her to respond thoughtfully to the needs of the people she supports.

Outside of the office, Jestina enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. She is especially passionate about running and hiking and enjoys taking on new challenges, including training for long-distance races. She also loves travelling, exploring new places, seeking out new adventures, and spending time with her animals.
